Money Games Math Centers - Coin Identification, Values, and Adding
These money games are perfect for a grades K-2 math center. There are four money games included in this bundle which can be made into (9" x 12") manila envelope games or file folder games. Each game can be played by one person or with partners (or teams).
Games Include:
① Money Munchers - in this game students spin a spider spinner to land on a coin (front side) and find the matching fly (back side of coin or its value) on the spider web game board. They play until all the flies have been covered with bingo chips. Skill: coin identification.
② School Supplies Backpack Fill - in this game students roll a die three times to determine which coins they get to use to purchase a school supply item. They place their school supply item on their backpack and play until all cards are gone. The player with the greatest value wins. Skills: counting money, counting coins, adding money and making purchasing decisions based on how much money you have.
③ Piggy Piggy Bank Roll - for this game students roll a die to determine which coin to put in their piggy bank. Once each player's piggy bank is full they add up their coins. The player with the greatest value wins! Skills: counting money, counting coins, adding money, greater than and less than, comparing numbers and amounts.
④ 'Pop'Coin Values - in this game students spin a spinner to land on a coin. They place a bingo chip on the matching 'pop'coin back side or value (depending on the game board you pick). Skills: coin identification, coin values, matching coins and values.
